as Therapeutic Consultation Clinician (Contractor)

As a contractor with Innovation Behavior Services, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of hybrid telehealth services, supported by a collaborative and mission-driven team. Together, we create meaningful change for individuals with diverse needs, including adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD).

Therapeutic Consultation Clinicians

Your Responsibilities:

As a Therapeutic Consultation Clinician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals, caregivers, and families by:

  • Conducting assessments to identify needs and developing individualized support plans.
  • Providing training and guidance to caregivers and family members to ensure the effective implementation of interventions.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to create a holistic and effective approach to care.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports to track client outcomes.
  • Consistently meeting deadlines for treatment team receivables.



Allowable Activities Include:


  • Interviewing the individual, family, and caregivers to identify issues and desired outcomes.
  • Observing daily activities and assessing current interventions and support strategies.
  • Developing data collection methods and collecting baseline data.
  • Creating a written consultation or behavioral support plan with recommended interventions.
  • Demonstrating therapeutic interventions, supports, or assistive devices.
  • Training family/caregivers to implement therapeutic interventions.
  • Intervening directly with the individual and demonstrating interventions to family/caregivers.
  • Consulting about therapeutic outcomes in person, over the phone, or via video feed.

Therapeutic Consultation Clinicians

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Behavior Analysis, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Board certification as a BCBA, BCBA-D, or BCaBA.
  • Current Virginia license (LBA or LABA).
  • Eligibility to be credentialed with Medicaid.
  • At least 2 years of post-certification experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience delivering telehealth ABA services.
  • Experience working with adults or completing CEs related to adult populations with ID/DD.
  • Completed acceptable background checks as appropriate to the position (OIG, State/Federal criminal history, child protection, adult protection, etc.) 
  • Is or is willing to become credentialed with Medicaid in the applicable states. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ethical, professional, and best practices.
  • Legally permitted to work in the U.S. and qualified to work as a 1099 contractor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting adults with multiple diagnoses.
  • Background working in residential placements.
  • Expertise in addressing high-intensity maladaptive behaviors.
  • Professional experience working with diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities.

Travel and Work Requirements

  • Travel: Up to 25% within Northern Virginia for in-person consultations as clinically necessary.
  • Equipment: Reliable internet connection and a computer with speakers, microphone, and video camera capable of supporting two-way video.
